About Apple Federal Credit Union
The Apple Federal Credit Union is often described by its owners as the most convenient credit union in Northern Virginia. The union has been in existence since 1956, since that time it has mostly provided its services to the educational community in North Virginia. Membership only requires that the intending applicant deposits the sum of $5 on joining the Apple Federal Credit Union.
Membership to the union is possible if the intending member works for an academic institution or is a student of such institution in the US State of North Virginia. Immediate members of the applicants family may also apply for membership of the Apple Federal Credit Union. Joint membership is also possible although joint members may not apply for a loan from the credit union. Spouses of persons who died while membership of the credit union are also eligible for full membership.
Apple Federal Credit Union Services
Many services are provided for the members of the Apple Federal Credit Union. Since the Credit Union serves the academic community, loan services can easily be obtained for educational purposes. The loan available for the union however are not limited to such purposes alone. Members can also apply for other types of loan such as Payday Loans, Home Loans, Auto Loans, and a host of other less common types of loans.
Insurance and Investment Services
Insurance and investment services are also available for students as well as educators. Due to the nature of the establishment, such services come at fairly cheap rates when compared with industry standards. Investment services offer a broad range of possibilities as members can easily use the services to invest in money market and stock opportunities. Insurance and investment services are provided by way of a partnership between the Apple Federal Credit Union and the CUNA Mutual Group.
Banking Services
Other standard banking services are also provided to members of the Apple Federal Credit Union. These standard services include the following: Checking accounts, Commercial Loans, Credit Cards, Retirement services, Safe Deposit Boxes and Savings accounts.
Scholarships Loans and Credits
From time to time, the Apple Federal Credit Union will offer services that may not fit the norm in terms of standard offerings from credit unions. These services include scholarships given to students who are members of the Apple Federal Credit Union. The availability of such scholarships are determined by the necessary authorities responsible for such scholarships at the Apple Federal Credit Union headquarters.
The union also provides grants to educators who are members. These various grants can be applied for by educators if they fulfill the necessary requirements.
